Mission Statement:
A professional trade association, the Wisconsin Builders Association® (WBA) advances the housing industry for members and consumers through government involvement, education and promotion.

Vision Statement:
WBA’s role is to drive good housing policy to result in affordable, innovative and environmentally conscious homes accessible to all.

Introduction:
The Wisconsin Builders Association® consists of 25 local associations across the state. WBA represents more than 7,500 member companies involved in residential and light commercial construction, development, and remodeling, as well as sub-contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, lenders and other businesses associated with the home-building industry.The Wisconsin Builders Association® represents the interests of the home building industry in Wisconsin to the state legislature and regulatory agencies. WBA also offers educational programs, publications, networking events and a variety of recognition and leadership development opportunities.
The Wisconsin Builders Foundation, Inc
. is the charitable arm of the WBA. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Foundation provides charitable relief to those in need, promotes the building industry as an excellent career choice, encourages on-going training for professionals in the industry as well as the home-buying public and supports research for the advancement of the industry.

Membership Levels:

Builder Member – any individual that is in the business of shelter construction, remodeling, or land development and who subscribes to the Code of Ethics of the WBA and is of good character and business reputation.

Associate Member – any individual engaged in any trade, industry, or profession related to shelter construction, remodeling, or land development and not inconsistent with the objectives of WBA, who subscribes to the Code of Ethics of the WBA and is of good character and business reputation.

Affiliate Member – any individual who subscribes to the Code of Ethics of the WBA and is an employee of a company represented by a Builder or Associate member of the same local association.

Student Member – any student of light construction or related subjects who is a member of an organized group in an accredited school during the current academic year and is sponsored by a faculty advisor.

Advocacy – Knowledgeable WBA Government Affairs staff work to give a stronger voice for members directly to state lawmakers. The agenda is member driven, and the constant presence of staff in the Capitol ensures the impact of legislation on building industry issues is well known. In addition, GA staff assist members who are active in local, state, and national politics, and facilitate the vetting process to insure endorsement of pro-housing candidates.

Networking – General membership meetings, table top nights, golf outings, auctions, community service projects, charity events, clay shoots and casino night are just a few of the myriad of activities local associations offer. Our members prefer to do business with members, creating partnerships and expanding your customer base.

Increased Credibility and Visibility – WBA projects a positive image for the building industry and provides public recognition as an active, educated, professional. Visibility opportunities include the Parade of Homes and Home Shows.

WBA Insurance Services - As a member of the Wisconsin Builders Association® you are able to access a variety of quality insurance programs exclusive to members of the WBA. WBA Insurance Services in conjunction with WPS Health Insurance, Arise Health Care, New York Life, and Continental Western Group provide these plans to you, your family, and your employees. WBA Insurance Services is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Wisconsin Builders Association® created to provide quality insurance programs to the members of the WBA. WBA Insurance Services was created by members more than 15 years ago and is overseen by a Board of Directors, also made up of members.

Annual Events:

The WBA Convention brings together members from across the state for a weekend of networking, meetings, seminars, tours and fun! The highlight of the weekend is the President’s Installation Banquet on Saturday evening.

The WBA Golf Outing is an opportunity to mix with members from across the state during an enjoyable day on the links at one of Wisconsin’s many scenic golf courses.

Business Day in Madison is Wisconsin’s premiere legislative event, bringing more than 1,000 business leaders together with policymakers to discuss the most important issues facing our state. WBA members and staff from across the state gather in Madison for an update by the WBA Government Affairs staff on current legislative issues affecting the building industry. Attendees then meet directly with legislators to voice their concerns directly to those who make a difference with their vote.
Business Day In Madison concept was developed in 2003 when 15 business associations throughout Wisconsin joined together to promote a legislative event in Madison to discuss topics of mutual interest and importance to the business community, including taxes, the state economy, health care, transportation and regulatory issues. Since 2003, there are 22 Wisconsin business organizations that regularly participate by attending and promoting the program to their members.
Publications:

The Wisconsin Badger Builder is a bi-monthly magazine for members of the Wisconsin Builders Association®. The magazine provides members with information, industry, and association news. A calendar of events and the community service projects of local associations are regular features. In addition, a member and their business is spotlighted every issue in the Builder Profile. Advertising opportunities are available to promote your business to our statewide audience.

Wisconsin Building News is a monthly newsletter reporting on timely housing issues, association and member news and upcoming events. Members are encouraged to submit news items for coverage.

www.wisbuild.org is the official website of the Wisconsin Builders Association®. It contains information for the public, a searchable member directory, continuing education opportunities, and current special events. An exclusive section of content just for members contains contracts & forms, legislative bill tracking, and updates on the Executive Committee and Board of Director meetings.
