Business Day in Madison

Business Day:  February 11, 2009

Business Day in Madison is Wisconsin’s premiere legislative event, bringing more than 1,000 business leaders together with policymakers to discuss the most important issues facing our state.  WBA has been a long time sponsor of this event, and this year we look forward to participating.  As you know, in these challenging economic times, it is more important than ever for the business community to help policymakers understand what it will take to strengthen the economy and create jobs in Wisconsin.   There are many newly elected legislators in the capitol, and we have a compelling story to tell.   This year’s program will showcase the business community’s Top 10 policy recommendations for improving the business climate in Wisconsin in order to create better jobs and a brighter future for our families and our communities.

The speakers this year are Pulitzer Prize Winner, Charles Krauthammer who will give the keynote address in 2009, and Dr. Barry Asmus has been invited back to kick off the program as the opening speaker.  We’re confident each of these nationally-known speakers will deliver an insightful address to make this a memorable program.  Governor Doyle and other legislative leaders are also invited.  Please sign up with your local HBA today!

Leave Behind Contest!

Win a free pass for you and a guest to attend Business Day 2009! I am challenging each local to come up with the winning design for the document we leave behind with legislators that outlines our main legislative agenda. Last year was the shape of a home. Deadline for submissions to Kate Easton is January 8, 2009.
