2006 WBA Remodeling Awards Specialty Project The homeowner envisioned a space that was vibrant and rich with fine appointments as well as a unique, one-of-a-kind space. The space was left unfinished when the house was built, and is now a new media room. They did not want this to be the typical room. Comments made by friends, family and trade contractors say, "breathtaking!" Bookcases were carefully incorporated into the space. The homeowner insisted that all of the millwork match exactly to the balance of the house. Each dormer is complete with outlets in each at the request of the homeowner so that holiday light decorations can be placed in the dormer windows. The two-tier box beam ceiling was created consisting of wood box beams with crown molding, drywall box beams above the wood beams and a cathedral ceiling above the drywall beams. The second floor utility room was relocated and incorporated into the new space allowing for a dramatic entrance into the space. Before
