January EO Update

Bring Your Ideas to the EO Luncheon!

Executive Officers attending the EO luncheon before the WBA Member Meeting Day on Friday, February 8th: Bring Your Ideas to the Orpheum! We'll be discussing topics for the upcoming 2019 EO meetings!

Legislature Appointments for Advocacy Day

Just a quick note to ask for your help to make sure we have another successful Advocacy Day in Madison in 2019.  Our date is now set for March 5 ,and registration is up and running.  For details on the event and the link to sign up for the event please click here.  As we slot additional speakers, we will be updating the event page and our promotional materials to indicate those changes.  With the start of session, the state budget introduction during this time, the new administration, and the new members of the legislature, it is critical that we have a big turnout.

We are promoting this event directly to members, but if you could also help promote the even and personally sign up to attend it would be greatly appreciated.

Finally, the one item that we still ask you to take the lead on is scheduling meetings for members in your area with members of the state assembly and state senate.  Capitol visits can be scheduled between 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm.  The Park Hotel is right on the square across from the capitol, so walk time to and from the capitol should be minimal.   With the elections last fall, there are a number of new faces at the capitol, so you may want to review your current roster of legislators in your area.

Some resources that may be helpful to schedule meetings with members of the state senate and state assembly:

  • Map of state senate districts along with names of each state senator can be found here

  • A listing of all state senators, staff, and contact information can be found here

  • Map of state assembly districts along with names of each state representative can be found here

  • A listing of all state representatives, staff, and contact information can be found here

Finally, a number of locals cover areas that have several members of the state assembly and state senate within your borders.  If you need some assistance to help focus your meetings with legislators, please feel free to contact Brad Boycks to help target your list.

Thank you for your partnership to help make this another successful lobbying effort in 2019.

WBA Consumer Events Calendar Updated

This list was compiled using the information that has been posted on each local’s website, with links back to the event page or site for more information. This process will be done again in a few months to pull events that have not yet been posted online.
